Kasia Wozniak is a Polish photographer living and working in South London.
She is interested in how the photographic image can become an object in its own right in the age of digital image making.
Kasia uses a range early photography techniques, predominantly the nineteenth century process of wet plate collodion using large format cameras, to explore this idea.
The Cyanotpye process used by Kasia was first published by the astronomer Sir John Herschel in 1842 to create ‘blueprints’ of his notes and drawings. In 1843 Anna Atkins published a book called “Photographs of British Algae", which first recorded the use of Cyanoptpes for botanical purposes.
We are thrilled to be collaborating with Kasia on a series of Cyanotypes of local wild flowers and delicate stems grown in our garden.
